When the Kentucky Bourbon Trail launched in 1999, few people predicted it would become one of the most popular spirits tourism destinations on the planet. Today, more than 2.5 million visitors walk through its doors every year, exploring over 60 distilleries spread across 27 counties. From the rolling bluegrass hills of central Kentucky to the bustling streets of Louisville, the trail offers an immersive journey through the history, craft and culture of America's native spirit. Whether you are a seasoned bourbon collector or a curious first-timer, 2026 is one of the best years to visit.

The trail is organized by the Kentucky Distillers' Association and includes both the main Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour, which highlights smaller, independent producers. Together, they cover a remarkable range of experiences - from century-old rickhouses stacked with aging barrels to sleek modern tasting rooms where you can blend your own bourbon.
